Located west of Paris, La Défense business district boasts quite a few landmarks two of which borders the central esplane. One is the Grande Arche (Great Arch) completed in 1989 as part of the so-called French Revolution Bi-Centennial.
On June 3rd, Singapore Airlines added Paris/CDG to the cities served by the Airbus A.380. Promoting the latter to the extensive business community working at La Défense was the cornerstone of this commercial event. On June 22nd, Singapore Airline started pitching its tent .The Esplanade plays host to quite a few events of this kind during the year.

Completed in 1959 but now undergoing a 4th major facelift which includes a global indoor reconfiguration, the CNIT, or Convention Center & Exebition Hall is the other world known landmark bordering the Esplanade
